This regulation applies throughout the EU/EEA area and applies to a very large number of companies around the world, not just those established within the EU/EEA. Purpose of the website
The website is aimed at entrepreneurs and contain both theoretical information and practical tips. We summarise various relevant court cases and decisions from supervisory authorities in different EU countries.
In addition, we also summarise publications and recommendations from authorities in the EU, the European Data Protection Board, the European Commission, etc. Moreover, we write about other things that can be useful for entrepreneurs to know.
GDPR is a comprehensive and important regulatory framework with a lot to keep track of. Companies can have major financial consequences in the event of a breach of the GDPR.
Our services and digital products
This site is currently under construction. Soon we will start selling digital courses about the GDPR, which includes various lectures and test questions that we are creating. Companies will also soon be able to purchase various GDPR-related contracts and documents through the website.
I will continue to work with companies that hire me in GDPR-related matters, but more internationally. Companies can also continue to hire me to give specific lectures/trainings to the company’s employees, management team and/or board.
The author of the texts on this website
I am the writer of the texts on this website. They are not produced through any AI tools. The content is based on thorough research and information from reliable sources, such as government agencies, academic literature authored by lawyers and professors, court rulings and legal decisions etc. Below you can read more about some of the sources used.
Sources
Legal literature
Legal literature consists of legal dissertations, investigations, articles, legal commentaries, etc. The authors are lawyers, solicitors, professors and doctors of jurisprudence who specialise in a particular area of law. In law, so-called ‘legal scholars’ write doctrine.
EU institutions & bodies
The European Union’s institutions are spread across the EU and work together to address the common interests of the EU and European people. Some are relevant regarding the GDPR, such as the European Commission and the European Data Protection Board.
Data Protection Authorities
Each Member State has its own independent national data protection authority, which monitor and enforce the application of the GDPR. They also handle complaints, conduct investigations and impose administrative fines for violations of the GDPR.
YourEurope
This EU portal for a more digital Europe was launched in 2020, and contains information from the different authorities within each Member State in English. The portal makes it easier for entrepreneurs to start a business in or move to other countries.
